Mic Check: Asher Roth

Mic Check of the week goes to Pennsylvania Native Asher Roth. Asher Roth wasn't raised in a Hip Hop community or even listened to hip hop as a child. His playlist ranged from Billy Joel, Dave's Matthew Band, Bruce Springsteen etc... In 98' he was introduced to Hip Hop and picked up Jay-z's Vol 2 album , after that experience he had with Hip Hop , he knew that's what his life was gonna be all about. Asher Roth is currently signed to SRC records, home of Akon, Wu-Tang Clan and David Banner. His Mixtape The Green House Effect  Hosted by DJ Drama & Don Cannon was his latest project, that mixtape created a big buzz that got him the attention he needed from magazines, radio stations , blogs etc.... Jay-z thinks he's poppin so we had to go ahead and cosign him as well on StreetCosignor.com
